Environmental protection is important whenever purchasing material or procuring new machinery. We focus on using effective means of production with an emphasis on saving resources and, at the same time, keeping costs for our customers low.
As a print shop, we routinely process paper. Largely based on wood fiber, paper is a renewable resource. However, forests are also essential for life on earth so it is important to preserve them for future generations. For this reason, we give preference to purchasing certified paper from sustainable forestry. To this end, we cooperate with various organizations that guarantee the sustainable use of natural resources.
An example of FSC® certified paper at Onlineprinters is our 170 gsm "FSC® Mix" art print paper. It is a combination of materials from FSC® certified fibers and "FSC® Controlled Wood". The "Forest Stewardship Council" (FSC®) is an international non-profit organization which created, enforces and continues to develop the first system for the certification of sustainable forest management. At the same time, the term "FSC®" refers to the certification system or the product seal that marks wood products from FSC® certified forestry. The FSC® system for certified forest management was created to assure the sustainable use of forests, which includes the preservation and improvement of the economic, ecological and social functions of forestry operations. For this purpose, FSC® has developed a general, transnational and uniform standard which comprises ten principles and criteria, and can only be applied on a national level when all indicators are present.
Our paper selection includes 90 gsm art print paper in matte or glossy finish which is 100 %"PEFC™ certified". This means that the paper used is made completely of "PEFC™ certified material from sustainably managed forests. 90 gsm paper has a smooth surface and excellent image rendition and is one of our most popular paper types on account of its attractive price-performance ratio.
The "Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes" (PEFC) is an international forest certification system. It is the world's largest independent organization for the protection and continuous improvement of sustainable forestry ensuring ecological and economic standards.
